Privacy Policy
Focus Time Pro ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect and how we use it.
What data we collect
Focus Time Pro collects minimal data. Specifically:
- Blocked sites list — stored locally in your browser via
chrome.storage.sync, synced to your Google account if you use Chrome sync. We never see or access this data. - Focus settings — Pomodoro settings, schedule, and theme preference are stored locally via
chrome.storage.sync. - Usage statistics — focus session counts and blocked attempt counts are stored only on your device via
chrome.storage.local. This data never leaves your browser. - License key — if you purchase Pro, your license key is stored locally. We send only the key (not your personal data) to our server to validate it.
What data we do NOT collect
- We do not track which websites you visit.
- We do not collect your browsing history.
- We do not sell data to third parties.
- We do not use analytics or advertising trackers in the extension.
- We do not require an account to use the extension.
License validation
If you purchase a Pro license, the extension sends your license key and your Chrome extension ID to our server (api.focustimepro.com) to verify it is valid. No other personal information is transmitted.
Payments
Payments are processed by Stripe, a PCI-compliant payment processor. We receive your email address after a successful purchase to send you your license key. We do not store full payment card details.
Permissions
The extension requests these Chrome permissions:
- storage — to save your settings and blocked sites list locally.
- declarativeNetRequest — to block websites at the network level. This does not give us access to the content of web pages you visit.
- tabs — to open the settings page and the blocked page.
- alarms — to run the Pomodoro timer and schedule checker in the background.
- notifications — to notify you when a Pomodoro session ends.
- host_permissions (<all_urls>) — required by declarativeNetRequest to block any domain you add to your list. We never read the content of any page.
Data retention
All data stored by the extension lives in your Chrome browser. You can delete it at any time by removing the extension. License validation logs on our server are kept for 90 days.
Children's privacy
Focus Time Pro is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. Changes will be posted at this URL with an updated date.
